There seems to be 2 fair arguments here.
1 - It's obvious that the skill level in general is getting much higher with the amount of clans that have been formed and remain. The majority of the time a new player will join a clan, making them more competitive and knowledgeable. In turn this forces those who are ability/switch happy to use a lot more and therefore need to keep spending in order to maintain the level of success they have come to be familiar with...
The cost of items may need to be reviewed in light of the fact it takes a lot more effort/money these days to spend/use items to keep you in the game as a result of more players and more skilled players.
2 - The beauty of the game is survival. If you can't take a few deaths to get your cash up then you're a glory hunter and not a true competitor. Some go through whole characters without buying items. This is a testing aspect of the game which takes a lot of patients. A major factor of the game would be to take the rough with the smooth.
This isn't directed at you btw haha, just a point of view, both very arguable and a very valid point.
